Seams that stretch with the fabric and stay flat
Pegasus is the Japanese chainstitch specialist: overlock, safety stitch, cylinder-bed interlock, flat seaming and semi-automatic units. Al Borj supplies, installs and services Pegasus across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the wider GCC and Africa.
On knitwear, innerwear and sportswear the seam decides the garment. Pegasus machines hold a clean, flat, elastic seam at production speed, shift after shift, and Al Borj keeps them running from Sharjah.

The chainstitch specialist from Japan
Pegasus has built sewing machines in Japan since 1914
Pegasus Co., Ltd is a Japanese industrial sewing machine manufacturer that marked its 100th year in 2014. The company states that it supplies approximately 3,500 kinds of industrial sewing machine and works through around 200 sales agents in about 70 countries. Its stated purpose is straightforward: machines that support comfortable-to-wear apparel, anywhere it is made.
A specialist, not a generalist
Pegasus describes itself as a maker of chainstitching machines in particular, and the lineup shows it. Where a general manufacturer offers one overlock and one coverstitch, Pegasus publishes eleven overlock and safety-stitch series and more than twenty interlock and double-chainstitch series, down to ultra-slim cylinder beds and feed-off-the-arm flat seamers. That depth is the point: on knitwear, innerwear and sportswear you are not choosing a machine, you are choosing a seam. Al Borj matches the series and configuration to your fabric and your output, then delivers, installs and trains your operators.
Why knitwear factories fit Pegasus
The Pegasus series that build a knitwear line
Overlock and safety stitch for assembly, cylinder-bed interlock for hems and bands, flat seaming for sportswear, and semi-automatic units for the operations that slow a line down. Pegasus publishes many subclasses within each series, so tell us the garment and the seam and we will confirm the exact model. Tap any series to get a quote on WhatsApp.

The garments a Pegasus line is built around
Al Borj went beyond simply supplying equipment and provided solutions for my company. Their team worked on the production facility itself, not only the machine list.
Pegasus machines in the UAE: common questions
Which Pegasus machine suits our fabric?
It depends on the seam more than the machine. Pegasus publishes many subclasses inside each series, so the honest answer is that we need the garment, the fabric and your daily output before we quote. Message us on +971 6 533 3413 and our team will come back with the series and the configuration.
Why does a chainstitch machine matter for knitwear?
A knit garment moves when it is worn. A lockstitch seam resists that movement and eventually pops; a chainstitch seam stretches with the fabric and recovers. That is why overlock, interlock and flat seaming machines sit at the centre of a knitwear line, and why a lockstitch-led factory struggles the moment it takes on stretch fabric.
What does 'oil barrier' mean, and does it matter?
Pegasus builds its W and WX interlock series as oil barrier types, designed to keep lubricating oil away from the fabric. It matters most on white, pastel and lightweight knits, where a single oil spot at the hem means the garment is downgraded or scrapped. If you produce innerwear or pale T-shirts at volume, it is one of the first specifications to check.
Can Pegasus machines take out operations that depend on operator skill?
To a real extent, yes. Pegasus lists the FRA as a semi-automatic rib attaching unit with automatic positioning, the SOH-500 as an automatic unit for hemming flat sleeves, the MHG for hemming tubular goods, and the LSN for serging. Each one converts an operation that varies by operator into one that varies far less. Tell us where your line loses quality and we will tell you whether there is a unit for it.
Do you supply Pegasus parts and service in the UAE?
Send us the machine model, and the part number if you have it. We come back with the part, the price and the lead time from Sharjah. We can also put your Pegasus machines on an annual maintenance contract, so they are serviced on a schedule rather than after a breakdown.
How do I get a price?
The fastest route is WhatsApp. Message +971 6 533 3413 with your garment, fabric and output. You can also use our contact page and we will reply with a quotation and a lead time.
Need a seam that moves with the fabric?
