A 2-needle, 5-thread safety stitch machine with variable top feed. It feeds the top ply as well as the bottom one, so workwear, jeans, casual shirts and other heavy, layered or slippery wovens are joined and neatened in one pass with both plies level at the end of the seam.

What it is
Pegasus's variable top feed safety stitch machine (US stitch type 516) from the EXT3200 series: a 2-thread chainstitch seam and a 3-thread overedge, sewn with top and bottom feed dogs working together.
Who it's for
Workwear, uniform, jeans and casual shirt factories in the UAE, GCC and Africa, and home textile lines that seam heavy or layered woven fabric.
Why this model
On the floor the top feed dog stops the top ply creeping on heavy drill, denim, layered and slippery wovens, so long seams end level and cross seams feed through. For single-layer shirting and medium twill the plain EX3216 sews the same seam faster, at 7,000 sti/min.
Setting up a factory line with the EXT3216
On workwear, jeans and uniform lines the EXT3216 closes side seams and inseams on heavy and layered cloth. We quote it by the line, with the subclass, gauge and devices set for your heaviest fabric.
- 01

What the EXT3216 does on a factory floor

Variable top feed
Both plies move together on heavy wovens
The top and bottom feed dogs on Pegasus's EXT machines feed both plies, which Pegasus says prevents plyshifting and twisting. On the EXT3216-03/333 the top feed dog travels 1-6 mm front to back with a 4.5 mm up-and-down stroke. Pegasus advises large strokes for heavy fabric and cross seams, and small, soft strokes for light fabric.
On the factory floorTop and bottom feed dogs drive both plies, so side seams on heavy wovens end with the plies matched, without shifting or twisting.

Needle cooling
Needle heat kept down on dense cloth
Every EXT subclass carries Pegasus's HR upper and lower needle and thread coolers. Pegasus explains that friction heats the needle as it passes through fabric at speed, which breaks thread and skips stitches. On its safety stitch machines Pegasus also matches the double chainstitch thread take-ups to the needle plates to form soft balloon stitches.
On the factory floorThe HR coolers keep the needle from heating up in dense cloth, so long seams run without the thread breaks and skipped stitches that a hot needle causes.

PL device
Foot up from the treadle on bulky seams
The PL presser foot lift, listed for the EXT3216-03/333 with the AT and TK tape cutters, the KH vacuum chain cutter and the KL intermittent shirring device, raises the presser foot by air cylinder when the operator presses the treadle. Pegasus says it reduces operator fatigue.
On the factory floorThe PL raises the presser foot when the operator presses the treadle, so both hands stay on thick workwear panels and the operator tires less.
Denim builds
EXT3216-A04/435K and B-04/435K at 6,300 sti/min for jeans and working wear; EXT3216H-A05/535K at 5,500.
3-needle version
EXT3244-03/333, 6 threads, for cotton trousers with wide seams, at 6,700 sti/min.
Home textile builds
EXT3216H-45P1/574K for shirring with piping on bed covers; EXT3216H-C5P1/574K for piping on sofas.
Other EXT3200 subclasses: EXT3216-02/223 for dress shirts and blouses, EXT3216-03/233 for medium to heavy fabric such as pyjamas at 7,000 sti/min, EXT3216-42/233 for shirring aprons and children's wear, and piping on training wear (EXT3216-C3P1/233, and C3P2/233 with a 25 mm binder).

Questions about the Pegasus EXT3216
Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp. We usually reply within one working day.
Ask on WhatsAppIs the Pegasus EXT3216 the same as the EX3216?
No. Both are 2-needle, 5-thread safety stitch machines, but the EXT3216 belongs to Pegasus's EXT3200 series and adds a variable top feed dog; the EX3216 (EX3200 series) feeds from below only. EXT3216, EXT 3216 and EXT3216-03/333 are the same model, and the EXT3215 is its 4-thread version. Pegasus lists a 5 mm needle gauge with a 5 mm overedge for the -03/333, and 3 or 5 mm gauges for the -03/233; tell us the gauge on your current machines and we quote to match.
What is the price of the Pegasus EXT3216 in the UAE?
It depends on the quantity, the subclass and gauge, the devices, the table and stand, and where it is delivered. For a factory line we quote all the machines together. Send your city and quantity on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form and we reply with the AED price and delivery time, usually within one working day.
What is the price of the Pegasus EXT3216 in Nigeria, Ghana or Kenya?
We quote the EXT3216 delivered to your city, by quantity, subclass, devices, table and stand, and reply on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form, usually within one working day. Whether your team calls it an overlock or safety stitch machine, a serger or, as in Ghana, a neating machine, send the model code and how many machines you need.
Is the EXT3216 suited to a workwear or uniform line?
Yes. Pegasus lists the EXT3216-03/333 for plain seaming medium to heavy fabric such as casual shirts, and its heavy subclasses for jeans and working wear. It joins and neatens the seam in one pass at up to 6,700 stitches a minute with the top feed working. We supply it by the line with tables, stands and installation.
What does the top feed do on a factory floor?
It drives the top ply instead of letting the presser foot drag it. On heavy drill, denim, layered pocket and facing seams and slippery linings, a plain bottom-feed machine lets the top layer creep, so seams pucker or end uneven. The EXT3216 keeps both plies matched, and its front-fixed top feed setting rides over cross seams.
Who should buy the plain EX3216 instead?
A shirt or trouser line sewing single-layer, stable wovens. The EX3216 has no top feed to set, and Pegasus rates it at 7,000 sti/min on the -03/333 and 7,500 on the -03/233, against 6,700 and 7,000 for the same EXT3216 subclasses.
Can you equip a whole line, not just this machine?
Yes. Tell us what you make and your daily output target. We recommend the machine mix for the line, from lockstitch to overlock, safety stitch, coverstitch and special machines, and can visit your factory for an assessment first.
Do you deliver, install and train our operators?
Yes. We deliver across the UAE and the GCC, Riyadh included, and to Africa, including Lagos, Accra and Nairobi. We install every machine at your factory and train your operators and mechanics, then support you with genuine spare parts and annual maintenance contracts.
Can you supply the parts book and genuine parts for the Pegasus EXT3216?
Yes. Pegasus publishes parts catalogues for its series, and we quote genuine Pegasus parts by part number, from needles and loopers to knives and feed dogs. Send the full model code from the machine's plate, or a photo of the plate, on WhatsApp and we find the part. The catalogue button on this page opens Pegasus's EXT series catalogue with its subclasses and devices.
