An industrial single-needle lockstitch machine with automatic thread trimmer and automatic reverse feed, driven by Juki's compact M92 servo motor through the SC-920C control box, with a CP-18A or CP-180A operation panel.

What the DDL-8700-7 does on a factory floor

Automatic thread trimmer

Every seam ends trimmed, without scissors

A knife under the throat plate cuts the needle and bobbin threads at the end of the seam. In Juki's manual, a light press on the back of the pedal lifts the presser foot and a further press works the trimmer. Juki describes the mechanism as speedy and reliable.

A 450 W servo motor that stands still between seams

Juki's M92 is a 450 W compact servo motor run by the SC-920C box, which Juki built to resist voltage changes, noise and vibration. Juki states the box cuts standby power by about 25% against the earlier SC-910N, and rates power consumption at 320 VA.

One-touch reverse and seam guides

Backtacks set once on the panel

Automatic reverse feed at the start and end of each seam is standard, and a one-touch switch beside the needle sews reverse stitches when the operator needs them. The throat plate carries marker grooves as a guide for seam allowance.

  • Production counts on the panel

    The CP-18A and CP-180A panels show target and actual output, machine running rate, pitch time, average speed and a bobbin counter that warns before the bobbin runs out.

  • Wiper on request

    Order code WB adds a thread wiper to the machine; code 0B comes without one. Both have the one-touch reverse switch.

  • 13 mm knee lift

    5.5 mm by hand and 13 mm with the knee lifter. Juki's AK85 auto-lifter is an option that lifts the foot from the pedal.

Juki also builds the DDL-8700A-7 for light-weight fabric and the DDL-8700H-7 for heavy-weight fabric, both at 4,000 spm. The H-7 sews up to 5 mm and takes DB×1 #19 to #23 needles.
