The Juki DDL-8100e in 30 seconds

What it is

An industrial single-needle lockstitch machine head with a 3-row feed dog, an automatic-lubricating full-rotary hook and a deep-recess hand pulley. A motor under the table drives it, and the thread is trimmed by hand.

Thick seams slide under a high foot

Juki gives the DDL-8100e 5.5 mm of lift by hand and 13 mm with the knee lifter, and pairs it with a light-touch stitch dial, so the operator works with less effort.

On the factory floorThe knee lifter raises the foot to 13 mm, so the operator feeds hems and pockets under it and turns corners while both hands stay on the garment.

Juki designed the hand pulley with a deep recess so the operator can hold it firmly and turn it with ease when setting the needle position.

The bed comes with extra seats for mounting attachments, which Juki says hold up to frequent changes. The hinge is placed where the fabric cannot catch on it.

  • Low vibration and noise

    Juki designed the frame for balance and rigidity. Its manual gives 80 dB(A) at the workstation at 4,200 stitches a minute.

  • Low-tension sewing

    Juki tuned the sewing mechanism for low thread tension, so seams come out even across different cloths.

  • Light-touch stitch dial

    Stitch length up to 5 mm, set on a dial on the arm without tools.

The standard DDL-8100e is for light to medium-weight materials. For heavy-weight work Juki makes the DDL-8100eH, rated at 4,000 stitches a minute with DB×1 #20 to #23 needles and a 35 mm needle bar stroke. Tell us the fabric and we advise which head fits.
