What it is
A direct-drive industrial overlock that replaces the Jack E4S in our range. Jack has built the motor onto the main shaft and kept a patented A, M and H fabric selector on one lever.
Who it's for
Garment, uniform and workwear factories in the UAE, the GCC and Africa, from Ghana to Kenya and Ethiopia, that overlock T-shirts, knitwear, shirts and workwear on the same lines.
Why this model
Pick it as the everyday overlock: it runs from the pedal and changes fabric setting with one lever. Pick the Jack C4 for automatic foot lift, trimming and a voice guide, or the C7 Urus, Jack's top overlock, which sets its own foot pressure and feed at every joint.

What the E5S does on a factory floor

A, M and H selector
One lever for light, medium or heavy fabric
Jack's patented selector plate on the E5S is marked A, M and H: A for light material, M for medium and H for heavy. Jack prints its patent mark on the plate in the E5 leaflet.
On the factory floorBecause the fabric setting sits on one lever, a line moves from light knit to heavy cotton between orders without waiting for a mechanic.

Integrated design
The motor sits on the main shaft
Jack's E5 leaflet sets its integrated design, with the motor built straight onto the main shaft, against a connected design in which the motor is joined to the shaft as a separate unit.
On the factory floorBecause the motor is part of the main shaft instead of a unit joined to it, there is no joint between them to work loose, so there is one part fewer for the mechanic to check.

Thick seams
Made to cross folded seams
Jack's E5 leaflet shows the presser foot of the E5 sewing across a folded seam of heavy denim.
On the factory floorBecause the E5S is shown crossing folded heavy denim, hems and waistbands on workwear and jeans can go through the same overlock as T-shirt seams.
Speed keys on the panel
The panel has an LED display with speed up and speed down keys, so the operator sets the speed at the machine without opening the control box.
Voltage test
Jack's leaflet shows the E5 running from a voltage regulator set to 295 V, so a factory supply that runs above 220 V does not stop the machine.
Trims and overcasts in one pass
The E5S trims the raw edge and overcasts it in the same pass. In Ghana this machine is often called a neating machine.
Jack's E5 artwork gives no speed, stitch length or foot lift figures. We send Jack's sheet for your exact version with the quotation, so the figures you plan with are the ones for the machine you buy.

Questions about the Jack E5S
Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp. We usually reply within one working day.
Ask on WhatsAppIs the Jack E5S the same machine as the E5, and has it replaced the E4S?
Yes. Jack's nameplate on the machine reads E5, and E5S is the name we sell it under. E5-4 and E5-4-M03/333 are the 4-thread version shown on this page. In our range the E5S replaces the E4S overlock, so if you ask us for an E4S, we quote the E5S.
Is a neating machine or a serger the same as the Jack E5S overlock?
Yes. In Ghana an overlock is often called a neating machine, and elsewhere an overlocking machine or a serger. The E5S is that machine: it trims the raw edge and overcasts it in the same pass.
What is the price of the Jack E5S in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait or Qatar?
It depends on the quantity, the table and stand, and where it is delivered. For a factory line we quote all the machines together. Send your city and quantity on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form and we reply with the AED price and delivery time, usually within one working day.
What is the price of the Jack E5S in Ghana, Kenya or Ethiopia?
It depends on the version, the quantity, the table and stand, and delivery to your city. Send us those on WhatsApp and we reply with one quotation in AED covering the machines, delivery to your factory and installation, usually within one working day.
Is the E5S suited to a factory production line?
Yes. It is run from the pedal, changes fabric setting with one lever and has its motor built onto the main shaft, so one line can take mixed orders with little setting up. We supply it by the line, with tables, stands, installation and operator training.
Can you equip a whole line, not just this machine?
Yes. Tell us what you make and your daily output target. We recommend the machine mix for the line, from lockstitch to overlock, interlock and special machines, and can visit your factory for an assessment first.
How do the A, M and H settings work?
The lever sits on Jack's patented selector plate, marked A, M and H: A for light material, M for medium and H for heavy. Set the lever for the fabric of the order before the line starts, and move it again when the next order brings a different fabric.
Will the E5S run on an unsteady power supply?
Jack's E5 leaflet shows the machine running from a voltage regulator set to 295 V. Jack does not print the full range on that panel, so for very poor supplies we still advise a stabiliser on the line.
Do you deliver the Jack E5S to Riyadh, Accra, Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Cotonou and Lomé, and train our operators?
Yes. We deliver across the UAE and to Riyadh, Accra, Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Cotonou and Lomé, and to the rest of the GCC and Africa. We have offices in the UAE and Ghana and a presence in Kenya. We install every machine at your factory and train your operators, then support you with genuine spare parts and annual maintenance contracts.
Do you supply the Jack E5S manual, parts list and error codes?
Yes. As the authorised Jack distributor we can send Jack's instruction manual and parts list for your exact version on WhatsApp, and we supply genuine spare parts. If the panel shows an error code, send us the code and your machine's version and we help you clear it.
What warranty does the Jack E5S carry?
Every Jack machine from Al Borj carries a 2-year warranty, handled by our own service team, with genuine Jack parts.
Can I see the E5S working before I buy?
Yes. Book a demo at our showroom in Sharjah, UAE, and bring your lightest and heaviest fabric to test.
