The Merrow MB-4DFO-2.1 sews Merrow's ActiveSeam, a flat seam made as an alternative to standard flatlock, interlock, and overlock stitching. This variant is set up for lightweight knits. In the UAE, base-layer and activewear producers use this seam because it lies flat against skin and does not chafe.

The machine sews with two needles, so it can produce different ActiveSeam stitch types with two or three threads. Merrow hand-builds each unit in the USA and can configure it to the fabric on request.
