A flatbed coverstitch machine for hems, seams and binding on knitwear.
The Jack W4-D-01GB is a 3-needle, 5-thread flatbed interlock machine with the motor built into the head. Jack publishes it as the plain seaming subclass of the W4 series, the standard machine without automatic functions. In Jack's model codes the D marks the direct drive build and the UT marks the computerised one.
Jack states that the W4 runs at 5,500 rpm against the 3,700 rpm of an ordinary covering machine, which it puts at more than 50% better efficiency. Jack states that the machine sews heavy, medium, light and mesh fabric, and up to 8 layers of fabric thickness without any adjustment. Jack also states that the bottom differential feed holds stitch quality on difficult Lycra material, that a thread catcher holds the cut needle threads, and that the control box and motor are integrated for a quick and clean installation. Jack fits LED lighting with three levels of intensity.
