Hashima builds fusing presses and needle detectors in Gifu, Japan
A Gifu factory that builds two things well
Hashima states that it was founded in 1956 in Gifu, Japan, and that it has built apparel machinery there since. The company trades today as HASHIMA CO., LTD. and is still based in Gifu. Its two main lines are fusing presses, which bond interlining to fabric under heat and pressure, and needle detectors, which check finished garments for broken needles and ferrous fragments.
Why Al Borj brought Hashima to the GCC
Al Borj has been equipping garment and textile factories across the UAE and the GCC since 1987. When our customers ask for a fusing press, they need steady temperature control and a belt that feeds without puckering, because a bad bond is only found after the garment is finished. When they ask for a needle detector, they need one their buyers will accept and one that keeps pace with the finishing line. We hold Hashima parts and consumables in the UAE, and our own engineers install and service the machines.

Hashima fusing and inspection: common questions
What does a Hashima fusing press do and which model do I need?
A continuous fusing press bonds interlining to fabric under controlled heat and pressure on a moving belt, which is how collars, cuffs, facings and panels get a clean, flat finish. Hashima builds flat-bed presses, mid-width continuous presses, a wide-format press for full-width panels, and a flat press that runs without an air compressor. Tell Al Borj your fabric types and panel widths and we will recommend the right model.
Why do export factories need a needle detector?
Many international retail buyers ask their suppliers to confirm that finished garments are free of broken needles and ferrous fragments before shipment. A conveyor needle detector checks garments on a moving belt and alarms when it finds ferrous metal. Al Borj can advise on the belt width and sensitivity that suit your product mix, and run the machine on your own garments first.
Does Al Borj provide installation, training and after-sales service for Hashima machines?
Yes. We handle delivery, installation, operator training and commissioning across the UAE and the wider GCC from our base in Sharjah, and we offer annual maintenance contracts. Speak to our team on our contact page or on WhatsApp to build a service plan around your production schedule.
Do Hashima needle detectors work with garments that have metal buttons or zips?
Hashima states that its HN series detectors include an accessory pass mode for garments carrying metal accessories such as buttons, rivets and zips. In that mode the detector is set to pass the trim while still detecting ferrous needle fragments. Al Borj can run the machine on your own garment types before you buy.
