The Tony H-101 sews a blind hem, so the stitch catches only part of the thickness of the cloth and stays out of sight from the right side. It is the machine a tailoring room, an alteration counter or a uniform finisher uses for trouser hems, skirt hems, jacket linings and curtain hems.
Tony is the industrial sewing machine brand of Huei Hwang Industrial Co., Ltd. of Taiwan. Tony's own catalogue lists this machine as the H-101-M and gives its application as men's suits and ladies' dresses in mid weight material. Tony publishes a second build, the H-101-M-TEC, which it describes as carrying an electronic tacking device and a safety stitch. The specification table inside the same Tony leaflet heads its two rows H-101 and H-101-TEC.
