What it is
An industrial 2-needle lockstitch machine with unison feed (needle feed, walking foot and feed dog), Juki's rectangular feed, two vertical-axis double-capacity hooks and an automatic lubricating system with a sub oil pan and double filter.

Why this model
Pick it when a seam needs two even rows, such as twin topstitching on seats and sofas. For a single row on extra heavy material pick the LU-1508NH; for lighter single-needle upholstery, the DU-1181N.

What the LU-1560N does on a factory floor
Unison feed, two needles
Two rows of stitches in one pass, with no slip between the layers
The needles, walking foot and feed dog move the material together. Juki states the compound feed keeps the ratio of the walking foot and presser foot movement the same as the material gets thicker, which helps stop the top and bottom layers slipping on heavy material.

Juki builds the LU-1560N with a needle gauge of 4.8, 6.4, 7.9, 9.5 or 12.7 mm (3/16 to 1/2 inch), chosen when the machine is ordered. Juki also lists other gauges, from 3.2 to 31.8 mm, as separate parts.

Vertical-axis large hooks
Two double-capacity hooks, fewer bobbin changes
Each needle has its own vertical-axis double-capacity hook, which holds a bigger bobbin than a standard hook. Juki adds an automatic lubricating system with a sub oil pan and a double filter that keeps dust out of the oil.

16 mm lift
The knee lifter raises the foot to 16 mm, and 9 mm by hand, for padded panels.
Walking stroke 2.5-6.5 mm
The walking foot and presser foot stroke is set to the height of the thickest part of the seam.
Safety clutch
Guards the hooks against breakage; the machine is reset by pressing a button.
Also available: the LU-1560N-7 adds Juki's automatic thread trimmer, automatic reverse feed, a pneumatic auto-lifter and a dial for the walking-foot stroke. The LU-1561N is the version with gauges for Europe, and the LU-1565N has a split needle bar for corners.

Does the LU-1560N have a thread trimmer?
No. The LU-1560N is the version without a trimmer. The LU-1560N-7 adds Juki's automatic thread trimmer, which Juki states cuts thread as thick as #5, plus automatic reverse feed and a pneumatic foot lifter. We quote either.
