What the LK-1903C does on a factory floor

Button clamp

Flat 2-hole and 4-hole buttons from 8 to 32 mm

Juki builds the head with a clamp for extra-small and small buttons (301, 8-20 mm) or medium buttons (302, 10-20 mm), and offers a large-button clamp for 15-32 mm. The stepping-motor lifter raises the clamp up to 13 mm, in one stroke or two.

On the factory floorJuki offers clamps for buttons from 8 to 32 mm, so a clamp change, not a second machine, covers shirt, trouser and jacket buttons.

On the LK-1903C/BR35 a vibrating bowl sorts the buttons and Juki's horizontal forced-feed mechanism places each one in the clamp. It takes round flat buttons of 9-20 mm, 1.8-3.5 mm thick, in automatic, small-lot or machine-only mode.

50 patterns built in, 999 in memory

The control box and an upright panel are built into the machine head, so the operator reads it without looking away from the button and the table stays clear. It stores 999 patterns and 500,000 stitches, with a USB port as standard and an optional NFC terminal for Android devices.

  • Active tension

    Needle thread tension is set and stored on the panel, and can differ at the start, the middle and the fastening stitches of each button.

  • Dry head

    The needle bar and thread take-up run without oil. Only the hook gets a small amount of clean oil, so oil stays off the fabric.

  • LED hand light

    White, light-bulb colour or a mix of both, with five illumination levels and ten dimming levels for long shifts.

Also built in: correction of the first needle position in X and Y, a needle thread grasping device (off at delivery), a bobbin thread counter and 20-200% pattern scaling. Juki states noise is about 40% lower and power use about 26% lower than the previous model, measured on the bartacking version.

Yes, with optional parts. Juki lists a shank button kit, with a pick-up device, needle bar and TQ×3 needle, that sews shank buttons at up to 1,500 stitches a minute, and a part for thick buttons of 2.5-5.0 mm.

Is a button sewing machine the same as a button stitch or button attaching machine?
