A direct drive lockstitch machine that trims the fabric edge as it sews.

The Jin C-1 carries a vertical edge trimmer beside the needle, so the seam and the trimmed edge are produced in one pass. Juki states that the knife is raised and lowered with a lever and bar on the face of the machine, so the same machine can also sew with the knife out of use.

Juki lists the knife as suitable for materials including medium weight, elastic and brushed fabric, and states that the C-1 and the C-1A provide a dust collection space 29 mm wide, with 28 mm on the C-1-TB. An LED light under the arm jaw is listed as standard across the C-1 series.
