The Jack F5 is a 1-needle lockstitch machine. The motor sits inside the machine head rather than under the table, so there is no clutch motor and no drive belt to tension. Jack publishes the F5 in a standard build for light and medium material, in an H build for heavy material, and in longer stitch versions carrying the 7 suffix.
Jack states that the built-in energy saving motor uses up to 71% less energy than a clutch motor, and that a stand-by mode switches the machine off when it is left idle. Jack states that the control panel sets the sewing speed and the needle stop position, that a reset button restores the factory settings, and that stitches can be added with a dedicated button. Jack also states that a safety sensor disconnects the machine while service work is being done.
