A bonded polyester thread for outdoor seams that sit in the sun.

Serabond is Amann's bonded polyester sewing thread. Bonding fuses the filaments together, which keeps the thread from untwisting on heavy machines and on multidirectional seams. It is used on awnings, shade structures, outdoor furniture, marine covers and technical textile work. Al Borj supplies Amann thread across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.

What Amann publishes

  • Raw material: polyester. Construction: continuous filament, bonded.
  • Main application: outdoor textiles. Further application: home interior.
  • Ticket numbers 6 (tex 500) to 60 (tex 45).
  • 34 colours.
  • Minimum needle sizes from Nm 240 (No 27) down to Nm 80 (No 12).
  • Make ups from 1,600 m to 5,000 m.
  • Amann states Serabond has outstanding UV resistance due to special dyestuffs, and that it passes a weathering test according to ISO 4892-1 and ISO 4892-2.
