An ePTFE thread for marine, awning and architectural seams that stay outdoors all year.

GORE TENARA is the ePTFE sewing thread Amann supplies for the most exposed outdoor seams. It is used on boat covers, sails, retractable awnings, tensile structures and shade sails, where the fabric usually outlives an ordinary polyester seam. Al Borj supplies Amann thread across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.

What Amann publishes

  • Raw material: ePTFE, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. Construction: tape.
  • Main application: outdoor textiles. Further application: home interior.
  • Sizes HTR (tex 270), TR (tex 150), KTR (tex 150) and LTR (tex 110).
  • 11 colours on the HTR and TR sizes. Amann states it is also available in a transparent colour.
  • Minimum needle sizes from Nm 110 (No 18) down to Nm 90 (No 14).
  • Make ups from 1,050 m to 2,100 m.
  • Amann states GORE TENARA carries a 15 years warranty, that it will not fade, stain or discolour, and that it resists UV radiation in sunlight, mould, mildew, acid rain, cleaning solutions, salt water and industrial pollutants.
