Al Borj started in 1987 as the first company in the Middle East to offer complete, end-to-end solutions for garment and textile manufacturing. We did not just sell machines. We helped factories plan, build and run their whole production line. By 1999, Al Borj held about 80 percent of the Middle East market, and helped make the UAE a global garment hub.
One partner for the whole floor
Today we supply, install and service machinery for cutting, sewing, embroidery, fusing, finishing and automation. We carry the world's best brands, stock spare parts and consumables locally, train operators, and stand behind every machine with annual maintenance support. From our base in Sharjah, we serve more than 60 countries across the Middle East and Africa.
Nearly four decades of firsts
1987 — The beginning
Al Borj opens with Juki, Eastman and Kansai as its first principals — the first company in the Middle East to offer end-to-end garment and textile solutions.
1990s — Market leadership
We bring Wilcom embroidery software and the first Gerber pattern systems to the region, win Gerber's Million Dollar Club, earn ISO 9001 — and reach about 80 percent market share across the Middle East.
2000s — Across borders
Offices open in Kenya and Jordan. We build the region's largest car-seat upholstery unit and introduce direct-to-garment printing.
2010s to today — Specialised and automated
We deliver the region's largest aircraft-seat and kandoora manufacturing units, add medical-gown and digital-printing projects, take on Jack, and open in Ghana — recognised as a leading provider of automated solutions.
